Michael Jackson and Criminal Justice Reform

Michael Jackson--misunderstood and now mourned--was never afraid to speak out with music that captured a generation. Here in "They Don't Care About Us" he speaks for the too-often voiceless. You can speak for the voiceless at tomorrow's Freedom Marches. See http://freedommarchusa.org/ for links to a march you might attend. I'll be leading the march tomorrow in Denver. Details for it are available at http://bearingfalsewitness.com/fm.

Now, remember Michael Jackson:

Here are the lyrics:

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Bang bang, shot dead
Everybody's gone mad

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Beat me, hate me
You can never break me
Will me, thrill me
You can never kill me
Jew me, Sue me
Everybody do me
Kick me, Kike me
Don't you black or white me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my life
I have a wife and two children who love me
I am the victim of police brutality, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of hate
You're rapin' me of my pride
Oh, for God's sake
I look to heaven to fulfill its prophecy...
Set me free

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
trepidation, speculation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
black man, black mail
Throw your brother in jail

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of shame
They're throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can't believe this is the land from which I came
You know I do really hate to say it
The government don't wanna see
But if Roosevelt was livin'
He wouldn't let this be, no, no

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, speculation
Everybody litigation
Beat me, bash me
You can never trash me
Hit me, kick me
You can never get me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Some things in life they just don't wanna see
But if Martin Luther was livin'
He wouldn't let this be

Skin head, dead head
Everybody gone bad
Situation, segregation
Everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news
Everybody dog food
Kick me, Kike me
Don't you wrong or right me

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us
All I wanna say is that
They don't really care about us

Michael Jackson was a high profile individual. The media is a very powerful and cunning tool. It stirs the emotions of the majority of viewers who refuse to apply logic and believe everything spoon-fed to them. Most of us know the lengths detectives and prosecutors will go to in order to present a 'believable' (yet false) presentation.

There were many devious people out to destroy Michael for financial gain. It's hard to believe that parents were willing to use their own children to fabricate on the witness stand. Those in CPS and law enforcement knew the level of deceit that was going on, but encouraged it anyway simply because they didn't *like* Michael Jackson. As citizens we are constantly under the gun of their sinister avidity for convictions. (Far worse in the United States than any other country on the planet.)

Michael had a child-like quality about him that made him vulnerable in a society that lusts for persecution. It gave them an excuse to feel holier-than-thou.

I always shook my head in disbelief when Michael attempted to explain sleeping with children and it felt it was blown out of context. The suspicion of character assassination is upon those who choose to read -sleeping with children- as sexual abuse. The shame lies with the focus society has on their own exaggerated obsession with sex.

As parents, most of us have cuddled our children in bed to comfort and wipe away the fear of nightmares. I suppose that makes all of us felons/sex offenders. What's next?

A sick society broke Michael's heart.

As much as his extraordinary talents will be missed, he is at peace now. Long awaited peace.

I've never been a "fan" per say of MJ, though I more than occasionally, truly enjoyed some of his work. The medias have been very destructive in his case by simply reporting instead of investigating the allegations.
In a greedy frenzy, they swallowed contaminated info to spit out a deadly poison.
Still doing so 4 weeks after his passing... it is no wonder that MJ chose to create and retreat in his own world filled with love and innocence.
A legacy of genuine concerns for the entire welfare of the planet is forever engraved in his musical work.
When will the medias start exploiting the positive instead of the negative and contribute to make the world a better place?
